Very Wrong Ideas From Forums
I spent the whole night thru reading several SG forums at one go. Kind of free thru the whole night. Well there are many nice people around these forums especially some forum admins who have put in lots of effort for the community to share and interact.
I always try my best not to get too involve as I know forums can get kind of sensitive and things do turn out sour if not handed properly. It happened before when during I was taking part in one of the Arowana websites, those days I was also very much into Red Arowanas. I have seen how things turn nasty and resulting owner suiting owner to court for putting a very bad comment of him (a businessman) in a forum. I got to know how "people" do their business via tapping these forums as an free advertising ground to self promote his arowana, showing wonderful photographs and giving people an impression that they are really good. We call these people - dealers.
Like wise, in dog forums, commercial people also exist, it is obvious when someone is trying to promote a shop, a cafe, a training school or even a dog. Some admins are friendly and do not see the hidden agenda of these people. IF, one day when I have my kennel, I will rather design a website, register a company under the law(kennel under SKC) and I can do what ever marketing in my commerial website.
I read a few posts and I feel rather uneasy and unhappy about them:
"Owners showing off because their dogs are pedigreed dogs!" Frankly, a pedigree dog is nothing but just a dog with pedigree (birth cert). If they think their dogs are of champion bloodlines and they are good. I say they are wrong. Not all show dog parents produce all show puppies. To produce a good quality dog is never as easy as ABC. Well known breeders may take years to produce a litter of their expectation, so it is that difficult. So these owners who go around trying to "show off" about their pedigreed dogs, they are just ignorant owners without knowledge.
"This dog is imported from XYZ country and it is not like those pet dogs you see around in SG. It looks like those photo in XXX country. It is so different and even dogs imported from YYY country is not comparable." When this person made this comment, I would say, he is very baised and he thinks he knows alot by looking at 1 or 2 dogs and never even see those dogs imported from YYY country or even AAA or CCC country. By passing such remark, this person is misleading dog owners or future dog owners. He is smart enough to mis-spelled the country name, else I am very sure breeders, importers, commercial people related to YYY country will definately come after him.
Well.. my teachers have taught me to keep calm. However, I am human too, I will get angry too. By far, I have never made such comment so openly, but I feel these ignorant owners must be warned. Else their disease will spread!
