The Mixed Feelings..

Beside the rehoming plans for Oreo - my 1st miniature schnauzer, teaching the new owner about general dog ownership, ie health, diet, grooming, training and care. I still feel SAD about Oreo's Rehome, I felt that I have disappointed him in a way.

I told myself to be strong and look ahead for future challenge for the new boy. At the same time, studying the breed still. Always end up myself in some petshops or farms. I saw a couple of incidents (it always happen) that some people are still buying dogs on impulse. I don't think they study the breed or even know about dog ownership.

Saw a little girl (age about 14yrs old) crying to her mum to get her to buy a Amercian Cocker Spaniel pup. End up they DID purchased the pup and many items which the shop recommended. From the questions they ask, I know they are totally not ready for a dog. "Does this dog bark alot?", "Does this breed shed?", "Is this dog intelligent?" God bless them luck with the problems ahead, hope they see the light and overcome them one by one.

Saw a young couple, asking for the dog in the show "Below Eight", yes! Siberian Husky! Couple choose for half a day.. in and out of the farm several times. "Do you think they are ready for a Siberian Husky when they do not even know the breed's name?"

I guess I feel the ANGER over such scene. Another point is there is always a supply when there is a demand. Breeding does not stop. (refering to improper breeding from puppies mills). Saw some bad health puppies around, some crossed breed by accident or because there is a demand for
it. I feel SAD again.
